Clause 44.1

Defect Correction Period

Purpose

The defect correction period starts at Completion and ends at the later of the period stated in the Contract Data or the date defects are corrected.

Practical Application

The Contractor corrects defects notified during this period. After this period, uncorrected defects are the Employer's responsibility.

Common Pitfalls

The defect correction period is not a warranty period. Latent defects may still be pursued under common law.
