CE — Works Information
The Employer or PM gives notification correcting an assumption stated in the Contract Data or the Site Information. The correction changes the physical conditions the Contractor expected.
If the Contract Data contains an incorrect assumption about site conditions, correcting that assumption is a CE. The Contractor is entitled to the difference between the assumed and actual conditions.
The correction must be formally notified. An informal acknowledgment that the assumption was wrong does not trigger the CE mechanism.
