Clause 63.10

CE — Preparing for Other Work

Purpose

If a CE cancels or changes work that has already been prepared for, the cost of preparation is included in the assessment.

Practical Application

Wasted design, procurement, or preparatory work due to a CE instruction is recoverable.

Common Pitfalls

Demonstrating wasted cost requires records of work done before the CE instruction. Keep detailed records.
