CE — Correction of Defects by Employer
The Employer corrects a defect that was not the Contractor's responsibility, or instructs the Contractor to correct a defect caused by an Employer risk.
If the Supervisor incorrectly notifies a defect that later proves to be an Employer risk, the correction work is a CE. The Contractor is entitled to time and cost for the instructed correction.
Distinguish between the Contractor's obligation to correct its own defects (own cost) and correction of defects caused by Employer risks (CE). The cause of the defect determines entitlement.
