Clause 27.2

Providing Access

Purpose

The Contractor provides access to work being done and to Plant and Materials being stored for the contract for the Project Manager, the Supervisor, and Others named by the Project Manager.

Practical Application

The Contractor must allow the PM, Supervisor, and authorised Others to inspect work and stored materials at reasonable times. Access includes providing safe means of entry.

Common Pitfalls

Denying access or imposing unreasonable conditions on access may breach the contract. The Contractor should facilitate inspections promptly even if inconvenient.
