Clause 35.2

Completion — Sectional Completion

Purpose

If the Works Information identifies sections of the works, each section has its own Completion Date. The Contractor achieves Completion of each section by its sectional Completion Date.

Practical Application

Sectional Completion allows phased handover and separate delay damages for each section. Each section's Completion is certified independently by the Supervisor.

Common Pitfalls

Interdependence between sections can cause cascading delays. A CE affecting one section may delay others even if that section's works are unaffected.
