Implementing Accepted Acceleration
When a quotation for an acceleration is accepted, the Project Manager changes the Prices, the Completion Date and the Key Dates accordingly and accepts the revised programme.
Formal implementation of acceleration requires the PM to change the contract documents. The revised programme becomes the new Accepted Programme and the new Completion Date and Key Dates take effect.
Acceleration is voluntary - the Contractor cannot be forced to accelerate. However, once a quotation is accepted and implemented, the Contractor is contractually bound to achieve the earlier Completion Date.
