Clause 40.2

Tests — Materials

Purpose

The Supervisor tests materials to confirm they meet the Works Information. Tests are carried out at the place of manufacture, on Site, or as stated in the Works Information.

Practical Application

The Contractor provides samples of materials for testing. The Supervisor specifies the test methods and acceptance criteria.

Common Pitfalls

If the Works Information does not specify test methods, the Supervisor determines them. The Contractor should agree test protocols in advance to avoid disputes over results.
