Defects Certificate
The Supervisor issues a Defects Certificate at the end of the defect correction period. The certificate lists defects notified but not corrected, or states that no defects remain uncorrected.
The Defects Certificate marks the formal end of the defect correction period. It triggers release of the second half of retention and the start of any warranty period.
If the Supervisor does not issue the certificate promptly, the Employer may treat the defect correction period as complete. The Contractor should chase the certificate proactively.
