Access for Defect Correction in Taken-Over Parts
The Project Manager arranges for the Client to allow the Contractor access to and use of a part of the works which has been taken over if it is needed for correcting a Defect. The defect correction period begins when the necessary access and use have been provided.
If a defect is found in a part already taken over by the Client, the PM facilitates access. The defect correction period is extended to start from the date access is actually provided.
If the Client delays providing access, the defect correction period is correspondingly delayed. The Contractor should formally record when access was requested and when it was provided.
